Possible UTI

Had a rough start of the day. I woke up feeling woozy. I had breakfast in bed hoping that would jumpstart me. I got up into my wheelchair and felt a little worse.

We took my blood pressure, which read 88/51. Pam, the shift supervisor, noticed my face a bit swollen around the cheeks. We called him a nurse, who evaluate me. My blood pressure improved above 100. Still, I felt lethargic and not very talkative.

Nursing staff contacted my PCP office who recommended I get evaluated at an urgent care or ED.

I want nothing to do with ED but agreed to go to urgent care. My blood pressure improved. They tried about a dozen times to get my temperature ranging from my mouth, to my armpit, then ear, and lastly my rectum. Amazingly, they did not get one reading accept once in my ear it’s indicated 94.7. 4 the rectum, my caretaker wrapped a gate belt around my chest and we stood for a few minutes while the nurse dropped my pants.

Is stuck an IV in my arm to give me fluids and did a blood draw. A half an hour later, I was told the blood work was mostly normal with some mild irregularities that could indicate an infection. The doctor recommended I get a urine sample done (again).

I chose to wait until the urine sample was done before deciding whether to take any antibiotic. Two hours later I was back home.

By early evening, I was feeling more like myself again. Just keep my fingers crossed and I don’t have an infection and keep guzzling fluids.

Gee whiz! You lead a dramatic life! If you’re already feeling a bit better, that’s a good sign. The big drama in my life now is that my printer doesn’t work and I’m determined to get one I can plug into a USB port. Connectivity is a real problem with wireless printers.
Maybe I should follow your lead, put my printer in the car and drive it to a med center for diagnosis. I enjoy your equilibrium, Howard, and maybe I can learn from it.
